About Me

I am your Lib Dem Town Councillor for Sudbury North.
I am Head of Geography at Thomas Gainsborough School, Gt Cornard and have taught locally for 31 years.
I was twice Mayor of Sudbury and helped create the Heritage/Museum centre including the Living War Memorial in the Town Hall. My latest success is its expansion.
I have been involved in many campaigns and successes for South ward over this period. It was Lib Dems who led the “Pavements are for People” campaign that got bollards in Cross St to stop HGVs and cars mounting the pavements. I have managed to get many road safety improvements in the ward from the crossing point in Mill Lane to bollards to stop cars mounting pavements in Church St, Friars St and Bank Buildings.
I helped with the campaign to protect health services in Sudbury and I have been on the group overseeing the NHS delivery of our new integrated health facility at Church Field Rd.
I worked with fellow Lib Dems who led the fight to save our Library in the Corn Exchange from the Tory cuts at Suffolk.
I persuaded the Town Council to take on the running of the Tourist Information Centre so that it was saved.
I believe strongly in the work of the Citizens Advice Bureau and I worked with Babergh to find them more suitable premises.
Finally, I was the Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate in 2010 coming a clear 2nd and gaining 31% of the vote.
