Saturday saw the opening to the public of our new integrated health facility. 600 + visitors came through the door in the first 2 hours. It was a delight to be able to give guided tours after over 8 years of sitting on the Community Liaison Group with the NHS to deliver this facility.
Siam GP surgery, X-Ray, Out-patients, Midwives, Physio, Blood tests, Podiatry, Audiology, Community dentistry, Mental Health clinics will all be based there alongside the community teams visiting people in their homes. The mobile breast screening and MRI scan will be based here too and can plug straight into the building.
People have asked about public transport to the facility on Church Field Rd. There will be 30 buses a day stopping there as the 84 and 84A Chambers and the 700 Felix service call right upto the front door. Hopefully, a new service will be running from Great Cornard to the facility too.
People were delighted with the building and its design as well as the environmental forward thinking with its sedum roof, solar panels and electric car charging ports.
This is a good news story and one I’m delighted to have been part of and roll on full operational day of January 12th 2015. Sudbury we have waited some time but it was a battle, campaign and collaborative working well and truely worth it.
