The expansion of Sudbury’s heritage and museum centre in the Town Hall has begun. The space of the old TIC in Gaol Lane will see a new interactive area created. The space will be a significant addition to the existing Heritage Centre. A recent open day at the Town Hall was a great success with residents enjoying the displays on archaeology, brewing, silk industry and the the world wars.
New signs will be installed to promote it which will need planning permission and it is hoped some of the archaelogical material from the Community Dig in Sudbury this weekend will be displayed.
This is just one phase in an effort to expand the heritage offer in Sudbury. Alongside this is the plans of Gainsborough House to expand in Weavers Lane with a new building helped by the support of Babergh District Council.Leave a comment
